ABOUT ANDREW SANDERSON
My industry expertise is in relation to the health and safety and transport sectors with particular expertise in road transport matters including Public Inquiries before the Traffic Commissioners and Transport Appeal Tribunal, defending road transport prosecutions in the Magistrates’ and Crown Court, health and safety, corporate manslaughter, and Coroners’ Inquests. Further, in the transport field I deal with international trade disputes regarding the sale and shipment of goods, voyage and time charters, bills of lading and general trading disputes. I advise clients in relation to anti-bribery and corruption, fraud and regulatory compliance. Further, I defend both individuals as well as companies who are subject to investigation and prosecution by the Health & Safety Executive. I provide support and advice from dealing with matters at the Police Station, including representation at PACE interviews, dealing with prosecuting authorities, through to providing representation in the criminal courts at all levels. I am a Solicitor-Advocate with rights of audience in the Higher Courts, both Criminal and Civil. I am a member of the Solicitors Association of Higher Court Advocates. I am a member of the Confederation of Passenger Transport and the Freight Transport Association. Member of the Honourable Society of Grays Inn and The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK). Member of the Health and Safety Lawyers Association. In relation to maritime work I represent diverse organisations including: carriers; charterers; non-vessel operating common carriers (NVOCCs); ocean terminals; and port authorities. I have expertise in all types of marine casualties from vessel sinking and groundings to major ocean pollution.
