ABOUT ANDREW REEVES

I founded Linebox Studio in 2007.The studio works across adaptive reuse, mid-rise urban residential, workplace, hospitality, mixed-use, and custom homes. Our work often begins with existing buildings, difficult sites, and urban conditions that call for a clear architectural response. Public Linebox materials present the practice across conversions, development, homes, office, hospitality, retail, sustainability, and projects under construction.A central focus of the practice is the transformation of existing buildings into new forms of housing. Recent work includes The Slayte at 473 Albert Street and 360 Laurier, two downtown Ottawa office-to-residential conversion projects developed with CLV Group. Linebox presents The Slayte as an adaptive reuse of an existing office building into residential housing, and Ottawa Business Journal described 360 Laurier as the second office-to-residential collaboration between CLV and Linebox. This is the kind of work I am most interested in: projects that bring together housing, sustainability, heritage context, and long-term urban value. That alignment is also reflected in The Evergreen on Blackburn with Windmill Development Group, where new mid-rise housing is integrated with the former All Saints Church site. Linebox describes Evergreen as a large-scale CLT and adaptive reuse project designed to meet LEED Platinum and One Planet Living standards.Alongside this work, Linebox has delivered workplace projects for Shopify across Ottawa, Montreal, Waterloo, and Toronto, totaling more than square feet. The studio also brings meaningful experience in custom residential work, with projects ranging from urban infill homes to more landscape-driven residential architecture. Public Linebox materials show work including Echo Drive, River House, and A-Frame Chalet.Today, Linebox operates from Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto, and is publicly presented as practicing across Ontario and Quebec. The studio’s public positioning emphasizes progressive design, sustainability, adaptive reuse, and materials including mass timber and CLT.Architecture should create places people genuinely enjoy inhabiting.
