I use a collaborative and transparent leadership style to engage my staff, involve my providers, and focus on a patient-centered approach, to deliver upon our goals.Brief bio: Andrew Popelka Jr, MD, MBA, CPE is a board-certified physician executive with a passion for advancing healthcare delivery through leadership, innovation, and a deeply patient-centered approach.Born in the Czech Republic and raised in Acton, Massachusetts, Dr. Popelka earned his MD from UMass Medical School and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at UMass. After years of practicing Hospital Medicine in New Hampshire, he pivoted toward healthcare administration, earning his MBA from the Isenberg School of Management in 2014 and the Certified Physician Executive (CPE) credential in 2016.At Lahey Clinic, he played a key leadership role in driving Population Health initiatives—improving Value-Based Care, Health Equity, Readmission Reduction, Post-Acute Care Utilization, CDI, HCC coding accuracy, and Patient Mobility. He also helped launch the BILH Ambulatory Safety Net, a systemwide strategy to close care gaps and proactively connect patients with essential services.Dr. Popelka thrives at the intersection of clinical excellence and strategic systems thinking, always guided by a core commitment: keeping the patient at the center of care.
