About Andrew Petz

Andrew has broad experience in the Power industry having contributed to the success of major infrastructure projects in various roles throughout the project lifecycle. As the Structural Project Discipline Engineer for the TVA Kingston Gas Plant project, Andrew currently leads a team of nearly 70 engineers, architects, designers, and technicians in delivering the new flagship 1600MW natural gas power generation facility.Throughout Andrew’s career he has supported a variety of power generation and power distribution projects from conceptual design, proposals, and estimating, to detailed engineering and design, and thru construction via multiple full-time field assignments. Andrew’s Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) project experience covers execution scenarios including open-shop, union, self-perform direct hire, subcontract, and joint-ventures.

    The TVA Kingston Gas Plant project (TVA KIG) is a new flagship 1,600MW natural gas power generation facility supporting Tennessee Valley Authority customers with reliable power across the Valley. This $3 billion facility includes one combined cycle unit using a GE 7HA.03 gas turbine, plus (16) GE aeroderivative units. TVA KIG is being executed by Black and Veatch under an EPC contract as primarily self-perform direct-hire construction thru BVCI, a Black and Veatch wholly owned union shop construction company. As Structural Project Discipline Engineer for TVA KIG Andrew is responsible for the civil/structural/architectural work performed by a team of nearly 70 engineers, architects, designers, and technicians. Andrew’s responsibilities include project administration, engineering, construction support deliverables, procurements, subcontracts, schedule input and monitoring, quantity tracking, budget input and monitoring, scope change management, client interaction, and construction support.
