Design fiber routes within PC software programs OSPinsight, QGIS, Spatial and Netcracker.Generate Design Layout Records (DLR) within new or existing infrastructures that facilitate customer deliveriesand share with Fiber Construction Managers.Provide final DLR to Operations and Provisioning teams for assignment and design implementation.Collaborate with splicing vendors during normal business hours and on demand to ensure jobs are efficientlycompleted.Attend kick-off meetings with cross-functional teams including project managers, construction crews andnetwork operations to promote collaboration on timely and successful completion of fiber projects.Partner with Sales Engineering on approvals for route specific adjustments.Review Cost Estimates and provide all necessary design, procurement, and construction costs to include anyrisks and/or assumptions with recommendations to keep designs within budget.Submit all necessary Change Management notifications and adhere to field activity policies and guidelines.Analyze fiber test results including but not limited to, optical-time domain reflector (OTDR), chromaticdispersion/polarization mode dispersion (CD/PMD), and Power Meter Test (PMT).Create work orders for overbuild, passive filter and expansion projects.Participate in project reviews and communicate effective/efficient recommendations for internal processimprovements and cost-saving measures.Conduct site surveys and assess existing infrastructure to determine feasibility and develop cost-effectivesolutions for new fiber deployments.Review capacity reports and plan network augments on high utilization fiber routes.Collaborate with the NOC, Field Operations, Fiber Construction and Change Management to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to fiber networks, providing timely and effective solutions as part of anOn-Call rotation.
