Mr. Oberst began his professional career at a midsized insurance defense firm in Walnut Creek California as one of the firm\'s IT staff. In this unique position, he was able to gain experience in more than just technology. In this unique position, he was also able to gain an enormous wealth of experience in civil litigation from multipole venerable mentors who specialize in taking cases to trial. While working full time, Mr. Oberst then attended night classes at Golden Gate University in San Francisco obtaining his JD from the night program a semester early. While studying at Golden Gate, his studies were focused in the areas of civil litigation, criminal law, business law and intellectual property. During his time as a law student, multiple colleagues provided him experience in all aspects of civil litigation, including: writing numerous motions in state and federal courts of California; researching and drafting memorandums on complex issues of law; assisting in mediations and arbitrations; assisting in more than 40 civil trials from Voir Dire to final verdict; performing numerous depositions; and even preparing an appeal for the 9th circuit. Upon reflection in defending insurance companies and their insureds, Mr. Oberst made the choice to move into the realm of personal injury where he could work closely with his clients and seek justice for those who have been harmed by the wrong of others. Mr. Oberst has also worked on extremely complex eDiscovery projects and understands the intricacies of all modern electronic communication networks. Especially the procedures related to drafting holds on information to protect data in civil and criminal matters. In one particular Federal civil rights case, containing millions of emails and attachment, Mr. Oberst personally oversaw the process of a copious amount of information for review, and worked with the clients and attorneys to make the deadlines relating to the review and its strict time constraints. Mr. Oberst is also a talented graphic designer who enjoys using the Adobe suite of products, PowerPoint and trial presentation software to bring evidence to the jury in a unique way. Working with experts and attorneys, he has created hundreds of demonstratives, animations, and multimedia presentations for arbitrations, mediations, jury studies and trials.
