I’m a hands-on engineering leader with a passion for building high-performing, motivated teams that deliver real value and innovation — fast.I’ve led teams across startups, surgical and medical devices, combination products, and robotics — tackling complex challenges, scaling systems, and delivering production-ready solutions at pace. Whether turning around underperforming teams or introducing automation and lightweight, effective processes, I focus on driving productivity, quality, and speed — without sacrificing the human side of engineering.Team building and development are at the heart of my approach. At Nuclera, I nurtured and grew a small team (4–6 engineers), transforming performance and culture. At CMR Surgical, I supported a team of seven, working on surgical instruments and the surgeon interface — while leading multiple complex outsourced projects. I’ve consistently combined direct line management with broader technical project leadership, helping teams stay focused, engaged, and delivering.I pride myself on heads-up planning — keeping a keen eye on what’s next. From anticipating bottlenecks to spotting friction points, I reduce surprises and build thoughtful systems that add value without unnecessary overhead.I’m commercially aware and believe engineering must serve the business case — not just technical ideals. In consultancy, I learned to focus on client needs; in startups, I saw the cost of poor hiring decisions and the importance of sustainable, value-driven growth. Employees are one of a company’s most expensive and valuable assets, and their time should be spent on high-impact work.Engineers often chase the perfect solution — I aim for the right one. I’ve seen both commercial profit and user experience suffer from overengineering or poorly scoped decisions. I focus on targeted, pragmatic engineering that delivers real outcomes.With experience in both consultancy and product development, I bridge perspectives — combining front-end pace and agility with the rigour needed to bring complex systems to market. I’ve led global outsourced development efforts and thrive in fast-moving, multidisciplinary environments.I believe the next productivity leap will come from smart use of AI to eliminate low-value tasks — something I’ve already delivered with measurable results.
