About Andrew Monahan

Andrew holds an MBA from the University of Rhode Island and a Bachelor of Science in Packaging from Michigan State University. He is currently working at Vertex Pharmaceuticals in an Operations and Continuous Improvement role. In this role, he has lead development of Smartsheet / Power BI dashboards for several initiatives including quality event management, regulatory filings, and Bill of Material management. He also completed a part-time rotation in the project management group leading the validation and launch activities for a new product in the US. He previously worked at Pfizer in the Right First Time Program office. In this role he supported the small molecule portfolio, including knowledge management, continuous improvement, and facilitation of risk assessments. He also worked in the World Wide Package Development group at Pfizer. In this role he was the packaging lead on many projects, authoring several global regulatory submissions. He also established himself as a subject matter expert in package modeling, and has experience in medical device development and combination products. He also worked at PCI, a contract packager for the pharmaceutical industry. PCI packages a wide variety of products blisters, bottles, pouches, cartons, trays, shippers, etc. The packaging lines being on-site allowed him to develop a great understanding of packaging processes and machinability in package designs. He was also able to develop project management skills as he worked through several product launches with the various clients he worked with.
