ABOUT ANDREW MATHESON

I am a Full Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP) and have fifteen (15) years’ of professional experience, including ten (13) years of post-qualification experience, stretching from some of Canada’s smallest maritime municipalities to some of Asia’s largest and fastest-growing urban areas. I have a Master’s of Urban Planning degree from McGill University and have lived, worked and/or planned in Canada (Ontario, Quebec, Alberta & Atlantic Canada), Asia (Hong Kong, Mainland China, South Korea, Cambodia, Laos & Indonesia), the West Pacific (Northern Mariana Islands), and West Africa (Benin & Cape Verde).My professional planning experience has enabled me to develop a sound understanding of planning principles and planning frameworks and a determination to find innovative solutions to land use management issues in both Master Planning and Development Consultancy projects regardless of the legislative, geographic or political contexts. I am adept at working with a wide range of stakeholders (clients, colleagues, government representatives and the general public) and I have strong written, verbal and graphic communication and presentation skills. I enjoy a challenging work environment where interaction with others is frequent and working closely with other professionals is required.
