I retired from Robert Gordon\'s College, my much loved school, leaving full-time, paid employment in June 2025. I\'ve now moved to the next stage, one of giving back and hoping to still make a difference, helping people and organisations in advisory, voluntary and non-executive positions. I am a Chartered Accountant and Senior Financial Professional with a significant background in Governance and Commercial Management. I built considerable experience over 40+ years in the accountancy profession, then industry and latterly in the education and third/not for profit sectors. I have held finance leadership positions, been a Company Director and Clerk to a Board of trustee Governors. Most recently I am well versed in school education and the Scottish independent school sector in particular. I was Chair of the Scottish bursars’ network and a Director of the UK wide Independent School Bursars Association. I am a family man, with a passion for sport, cricket in particular having led a successful club for 14 years, genealogy, helping younger people find their true potential and helping organisations, with whom I have an affinity, do the same.
