About Andrew L.

I am an innovative leader with 15 years of academic leadership experience at three universities. I am currently the Chair of the Forestry Department Francis Marion University. I am tasked with forming all aspects of FMU’s new forestry program. The department will be enrolling students for a start in the fall semester of 2026. I served as the Assistant Extension Director for Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) with Ohio State University Extension for 6.5 years. I managed the multi-million dollar ANR budget, develop federal reports for ANR subject matter areas, directly supervise 18 faculty and staff across Ohio, and provide programmatic leadership and professional mentorship for over 200 state and county extension faculty and staff. I chaired the three committees which organize and conduct the annual Farm Science Review and represent OSUE and the College of Food, Agriculture, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) with state and federal agencies, commodity groups, and other constituent groups and partners.I have successfully led programs at both Mississippi State University, Ohio State University, and now Francis Marion University. I am looking for opportunities to advance my professional and academic career.
