Provides around-the-clock supervision and management of CharterCare’s Department of Infection Prevention and Control and Employee Health Services at Roger Williams Medical Center and Our Lady of Fatima Hospital.• Provides expert clinical support to hospital staff, medical staff, volunteers, and external vendors related to infection control and prevention practices.• Monitors compliance with regulations as established by the Rhide Island Department of Health (MaDPH), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), The Joint Commission (TJC), the Centers for Disease and Control (CDC), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).• Teaches principles and practical application of infection control to all levels of healthcare personnel. Improves infection control practices based on evidenced-based best practices, and maintains records of hospital-acquired infections among patients and personnel; provides public reporting to regulatory agencies for HAI data.• Develops infection control policies and procedures; plans, develops and implements a system for identifying, investigating, reporting and preventing the spread of hospital-acquired infections. • Leads performance improvement initiatives related to Infection Control.• Provides MediTech software application support to members of the healthcare team related to Infection Prevention and Control.• Serves on hospital-wide committees including: Infection Control (Chair), Front Line Leadership, Bone Marrow Transplant Team, Intensive Care, Emergency Management, Environment of Care, Value Analysis, and Antimicrobial Stewardship.
