ABOUT ANDREW KING

Possessing a background in research, microbiology and environmental science, I have applied my skills to support change management within a variety of industries. As a HSE and Sustainability Director within AstraZeneca Operations, I continue to support a programme of change focused on improving the organisation\'s Safety, Health and Environment performance, embedding focus on safety into the mindset of our workers. Embracing the company\'s focus on lean and digital transformation, I have helped drive innovation through development of Safety applications that permit real time action allocation and tracking, moving from reactive problem solving to proactive mitigation and management. Moreover, I am proud to be leading our My Green Labs initiative across the enterprise, helping to make our lab practices more sustainable across the globe whilst striding towards becoming the first pharmaceutical industry to have all labs My Green Labs certified. this has resulted in Astrazeneca becoming the leading pharma/biotech company in sustainable science (with the highest number of scientists engaged in our Green Lab programme and the most My Green Lab certifications of any other organization); winning the I2SL freezer challenge award and the Lab Innovations award for Sustainable Lab of the Year linked to our programme. Effective stakeholder management, driving digital innovation and a proactive approach to problem solving to help delivery of our functional and organisational goals within a work environment that is constrained by regimented good manufacturing practices. Experienced in data analysis and management, responsible for reporting and company wide key performance indicators for FTSE 100 companies, both internally and externally.
