About Andrew Jovanovic

I am a former Student-Athlete graduating from Northwestern University with a double major in the Classics and Philosophy. If you don’t know what Classics is, don’t worry, neither did my father! My time spent on the Varsity Men’s Swimming and Diving team taught me the value of teamwork, time management skills, and acute attention to detail; skills I look to hone in my future study of law. Currently, I am looking for positions within the legal profession and am applying to Law Schools. I was honored and privileged to have the opportunity to find success within the sport of swimming. I trained at the same pool since 2003, competing for and representing NASA/Wildcat Aquatics and, until recently, Northwestern University. While attending Loyola Academy High School, I competed for the Ramblers during the high school swimming season. I thrive in adverse, competitive conditions. Through the sportsmanship of competition, I found my niche as a leader and someone who looks to elicit the very best from those with whom I found the pleasure to race against. I credit my leadership qualities to a lifelong passion and commitment to excellence I found as a swimmer. Through my training as a Classicist, I learned how to critically analyze complex ideas, how to articulate my own thoughts, and acquired an acute attention to detail by translating archaic texts from Latin and Ancient Greek into colloquial English. In my pursuit of Philosophy, I developed a keen understanding of Platonic Dialogues, a solid grounding in Logic, and a foundation of Morality. My undergraduate motto was to learn how to learn for life and I am satisfied with the skills and experience garnered from a study of the Liberal Arts. After all, the unexamined life is not worth living! In my spare time I am a watch enthusiast, amateur film critic, and a single puppy-parent raising a purebred, 8-month old Siberian Husky named Onyx.
