ABOUT ANDREW HUMPHREY

I have been a BA for over twelve years. The first three were at ITV in London, largely dominated by a multi-year, multi-million pound modernisation programme for their entire Airtime Sales technology estate, including both user-facing applications and infrastructure. I was a BA in agile product teams which developed two substantial new line-of-business applications for campaign management and ratings predictions, plus new operational and analytical reporting solutions, which combined my BA skills with SQL and data design. I also contributed to a \'semi-waterfall\' project to deliver more targeted advertising to the ITV Player.I left ITV in order to relocate to Manchester and to gain experience of different organisations of cultures. I worked for fifteen months for an Agile consultancy based in Leeds, called Infinity Works. The two main clients I was placed with are NHS Digital and Sky Bet. The former was largely devoted to working with their authentication product team, plus working with product owners to help define their high-level backlogs. The latter was working in an agile product team developing their free-to-play betting products. In addition, I became a scrum-certified product owner.After that, I worked for Lookers at their Timperley head office. My involvement here included a new centralised dealership data source, from initial discovery through to delivery with the product team and rolling out new business processes. My experience in agile helped get the team into good habits such as three amigos, estimation and goal-oriented sprint planning. I also carried out a large GDPR discovery/analysis piece for the head of infosec and company secretary, put together in such a way as to help them prioritise.Most recently, I have worked for Insight Investment since June 2020. A large chunk of my time here has been involved in creating a new line-of-business app for capturing and managing client requirements. I have enjoyed this particularly as I was involved from inception and have been able to make a big creative contribution. I\'m told this product is innovative for the industry and there was scepticism that it couldn\'t be done - we have proved them wrong! A career highlight.My delivery experience covers mainly agile plus some waterfall (and mixtures in between), commercial and public sector, front end and back end. I am an \'H\' shaped person, combining business analysis with data and database smarts, where appropriate.
