I’m a GIS leader with 15+ years of experience building geospatial systems, leading high-performing teams, and turning spatial data into powerful, decision-driving tools.From building open-source GIS web apps to leading POI data strategy for national platforms, my work bridges the technical with the strategic — and always aims to make an impact beyond the map. I care deeply about work that contributes to the public good, and I believe open, interoperable systems (like QGIS, PostGIS, and GeoPandas) are key to making GIS more collaborative, scalable, and useful to everyone — especially data science and engineering teams.I’m especially energized by projects that balance creativity with purpose — the kind that require cross-functional collaboration, thoughtful spatial design, and a commitment to doing work that matters.    As GIS Architect, I design and steward the technical and data foundations that power Zartico’s spatial intelligence products. My work focuses on building robust, scalable geospatial systems that connect engineering, data science, and product into a coherent whole.I lead the architecture of our core spatial pipelines, including the Location Intelligence Spatial Archive, our Unique Place Key system, and the PostGIS and GeoServer infrastructure that underpins our region-based analytics and client mapping. This involves designing schemas and ETL processes, integrating open source geospatial tools, and ensuring our data governance and privacy practices are reliable and defensible.I partner closely across engineering, product, and cloud teams to translate real world needs into stable services. This includes guiding API patterns, improving geoprocessing performance at scale, and shaping the technical direction for client editable region tools, POI ingestion, and spatial microservices. My work is strategic as much as technical: creating clarity in how spatial data moves through the organization, establishing standards, and reducing friction for downstream teams.I focus on long-term stability, practical innovation, and systems that help Zartico’s technical teams work with more confidence and less guesswork.
