Care Access\' goal is to engage every healthcare professional in clinical research and to make clinical trials a care option for every patient. ABOUT ANDREW HAMILTON
With management, research, public health, and food industry experience, I have a passion for evidence based decision making and collaboration among team members, to improve quality and efficiency, and lifelong learning. Since completing an MSc. program where my thesis focused on health claim substantiation for food product ingredients, including a randomized clinical trial investigating the effects of processing methods on novel pulse-based (lentil, pea, chickpea, bean) ingredients on satiety, food intake, and post-prandial glycaemia, I have worked and volunteered in food industry and public health. I was the Plant Manager of an FSSC controlled food manufacturing facility, where I implemented state of the art ERP software, and improved efficiencies through process flow, staffing, inventory control, facilities, and SWAT analysis. I worked for a manufacturing company developing food products for food service and retail, and continue to consult with private industry partners on recipe development, nutrition information, manufacturing processes, costing, and ingredient selection. I have a true passion for community and public health, having volunteered with sustainability initiatives, community health boards, and at community health events. I have worked in policy development on environmental and social initiatives for a community college in Ontario, and as the co-chair of a community focused conference on sustainable northern communities. In my spare time, I enjoy sailing the Bras D\'Or lakes with my family on our sailboat Groovin\', and hosting toddler music groups at the local library with my son.
