I am the Lead Architect on strategic complex underwater systems currently focused on the inboard systems. I have brought my previous commercial knowledge into driving alternative solutions to reduce cost, increase reliability and enabling elements that can be reused on other projects. This includes utilising COTS/MOTS items that have not previously being deployed, creating new equipment to overcome complex system architecture. All designed to stringent standards for the sector. Key areas• Increasing reliability across the inboard hardware• Power distribution/budget, thermal and acoustic performance• Matching processing and network capabilities to ensure future capabilities • Document the design through Design & Justification, HDDs, ICDs, preparation and delivery of the Design Reviews material• Reduced costs to align with project estimates and pushed Agile methods to enable timescale realignment• Supplier selection and onboarding new suppliers to ThalesWorking with the wider project and company stakeholders, we have worked towards fast delivery of new projects to the customer. I have provided the technical contact for the customer for hardware design reviews, site visits and multi-organisation working groups. This has ensured a healthy relationship with the customer and their sub-contractors.
