About Andrew Gordon-MacLean
As an educator, my experiences have informed me that to have any chance of realizing sustainable development we need to break down the silos that we live in. Our lack of holistic vision ironically results in a lack of sustainability. In much of my career I have tried to break these down whether they are the silos of biodiversity conservation, poverty alleviation, sustainable energy policy, community forestry, fair trade or green infrastructure in order to achieve a greater impact. This has enabled collaborations between diverse organizations, the dissemination of ideas to a broad base of stakeholders, and the creation of successful consortia for new funding opportunities. As a teacher, communications consultant, workshop facilitator and researcher I have organized and led workshops, designed communication strategies and materials (website content, books, radio programs, podcasts and press packs) for leading environmental think-tanks and NGOs such as WWF, IUCN, IIED and SEI International. I am currently looking for roles that will leverage my collaboration and communication skills to have an impact in the world of sustainability. Specifically I am looking for strategic communications or engagement specialist roles at a strategic communications organization.
