Mr. Gill currently supports the VA’s Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) Scheduling Enhancements (VSE) initiative to augment legacy VistA scheduling tools utilized by VA employees. As a member of the VSE Project Management Office (PMO) team, Mr. Gill assists the client by performing various project management roles and by delivering specialized recommendations as the client-designated VA Veteran-focused Integration Process (VIP) SME. Throughout the build cycle of each VSE release, Mr. Gill provides VIP and project management guidance during daily Scrum, release readiness, project management, and initial operating capability (IOC) test meetings. Concurrently, he drafts and updates various VIP-required artifacts, client-requested release documentation, and specific sections of the VA VSE Project Management Plan. Mr. Gill previously acted as a task lead in his support of the VA Office of Human Resources Management’s (OHRM) initiative to develop and transition a Department-wide human resources information system (HRIS). Specific support activities performed by Mr. Gill include: managing VA HRSmart and USA Staffing help desks through the BMC Remedy platform, project management planning, program management implementation, qualitative and statistical assessments/reporting, and operations performance monitoring. Mr. Gill’s efforts resulted in a 20% reduction in open help desk tickets during FY 2017, significant improvement in the quality and quantity of managerial reports available across the VA OHRM enterprise, and greater collaboration on the OHRM HRIS IT transition initiative between the VA Central Office and 30 other VA offices nationwide.
