All my life I’ve been fascinated by the “Hero’s Journey”, the quest by an individual or group to become better through a series of trials, tribulations, learned wisdom and plain old hard work. The more time I’ve spent in Cyber Security the more I’ve come to realize that building a security program mirrors the “Hero’s Journey”. Every day I get to wake up and help people\\organizations build their programs\\take their journey in securing what’s precious to themI’ve been working in IT in a variety of industries finance, insurance, manufacturing and higher education. I’ve been in just as many roles, starting out as a helpdesk tech (most underappreciated job in the biz), Management, Risk, governance and policy, and lastly sales. I’ll consider myself part-time cat wrangler as well, a learned skill that I’m grateful to have acquired.I work for Optiv as a Client Solution Architect in the Mid Atlantic region.
