About Andrew Flowers

I’m Andrew Flowers from Toledo, Ohio, and a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a Master’s in Business Analytics. I’m currently an FSO Assurance Staff Auditor at EY Detroit, focusing on insurance clients, and a CPA candidate.I began at Owens Community College, studied accounting at Northwood University, and earned my bachelor’s degree from Lourdes University, where I also competed as a collegiate baseball player, earning Academic All-American and first-team all-conference honors, competing in the NJCAA World Series, and competing in the Hamptons Collegiate League on Shelter Island, NY. Early in my career, I gained experience at a local insurance agency (including passing the Ohio Property and Casualty exam), a small business accounting firm, and through an EY assurance internship that led to my full-time role.At EY, I work with Life and P&C insurance clients, supporting financial reporting and controls with exposure to insurer investment portfolios, reserve-driven balance sheets, asset allocation, and ALM considerations.I’m particularly interested in asset management, capital raising within financial institutions, and insurance and institutional investing, with a focus on how long-duration liabilities are paired with investment strategy.Outside of work, I’m a junior member at The Inverness Club and The Toledo Club, enjoy golf, tennis, cooking, and poker, and volunteer with the Lucas County Pit Crew supporting animal rehabilitation.
