I am employed by Cognassist as a lead developer. In the time I have been there I have assisted moving a legacy solution into a microservice architecture. In a short period of time, I had exposure to Microsoft Azure/Dev ops creating micro-services in dotnet core, which are helping to massively improve the flexibility of the application whilst providing a consistent user experience to existing customers.Personal Achievements:• Implemented a variety of solutions automating tasks, which were previously having to be done by second line support including an important one, which ensured GDPR compliance.• Implemented a new federated identity provider (Auth0) into our main application, completely replacing our existing Microsoft Identity one. This was designed and implemented to ensure that the transition for existing users was as seamless possible. This involved changes to a.NET framework MVC application, the creation of various micro-services in dotnet core and JavaScript scripts for the auth0 backend. Please see the projects section for more details on this work.• Led a security focus group to ensure any potential security holes were fixed.Team achievements:• Worked with the wider team to ensure that the application rewrite proceeded to schedule. This involved exposure to Azure Microservices, Azure message bus, RESTful APIs.NET MVC, Dapper, Sql Server, Mediatr, refit and various other technologies. This work also required me to liaise with other members of the team.
