ABOUT ANDREW EMMERSON

Andrew received his Masters in Architecture with distinction from the University of Nottingham, prior to registering with the Royal Institute of British Architects in 2003. His subsequent experience includes working in architectural practices in both the UK and Vancouver. In that time he has been involved as a designer and project architect on a variety of developments including residential, commercial and healthcare projects. He has extensive graphic presentation and drafting experience and is responsible for design development, permit and working drawing production and project administration. Andrew is a registered architect with the Architectural Institute of British Columbia and a member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. Andrews’s passion for design is expressed through his broad use and skills in 3D modelling and visualization to help explore design opportunities, quickly and intuitively. He has extensive graphic presentation and drafting experience and is responsible for design development, permit and working drawing production and project administration. His direct communication and interpersonal skills make him an effective team leader in various phases of a design project. Andrew’s portfolio embraces a multitude of project types from Master Planned Communities to detailed interior design, developing enduring relationships with the development community, governing authorities, and public agencies. In 2010, he completed an ensemble of residential buildings at the Olympic Athletes Village in Vancouver, a community that was assigned the highest LEED neighbourhood rating ever awarded. Other commissions have included high density mixed-use developments, urban restorations, complex commercial business communities, and award winning non-market housing developments. Andrew is committed to the principal that good design enriches lives and stimulates both personal experience and social interaction. Andrew is a member of the Urban Experience Alliance, served as vice-chair on the Richmond Advisory Design Panel, and has been a guest speaker at the AIBC and RAIC annual conferences.
