About Andrew Eggleston
I’m a fourth-year pre-med student at the University of Georgia with an interest in general surgery, especially vascular. I spent a year in GI research studying diseases that weaken the intestinal tract of horses, which challenged and sharpened both my microscopic understanding of disease and my problem-solving skills.Outside the lab, I currently work as a medical assistant at Piedmont Orthopedics, where I assist with casting, splinting, pre- and post-op care, and joint injections. Being the lead MA during busy after-hours shifts has taught me how to stay composed, communicate clearly, manage and work efficiently under high patient loads, and help patients feel well taken care of.I’m always looking to expand my clinical and research experience and connect with others who are also driven to push medicine forward.
