About Andrew Durney
I am a Supplier Quality Engineer, Process Development Engineer, Engineering Manager, and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with eight years\' experience at Intel Corporation, where I delivered lithography process improvements on multiple process nodes (Intel 16, 14nm, 10nm/Intel 7, Intel 4, Intel 3, Intel 18A, and Intel 14A) through design of experiments, pilot-scale testing, and full process integration. I helped develop entirely new process segments, qualify first-of-a-kind (FOK) tooling, and champion many continuous improvement projects that resulted in ~5% reduction in wafer edge defects,~1-2% throughput improvement, and $10M+ cost savings. I am well-versed in statistical process control (SPC) and statistical analysis (JMP and Minitab). I earned a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester, where I used nanofabrication techniques to prepare novel materials. I gained expertise in electrochemical deposition and analysis as well as analytical techniques such as XPS, SEM, EDX, XRD, optical microscopy, and confocal laser scanning microscopy. I also developed a molecular transport model using MATLAB. As an undergraduate research assistant and intern, I learned polymer synthesis, NMR spectroscopy, and process modeling with Aspen Plus.I thrive in fast-paced environments, manage projects that exceed expectations and are delivered ahead of schedule, and bring enthusiasm to all teams I\'m on. I\'m always looking for new things to learn, problems to solve, and people to mentor.
