ABOUT ANDREW DOLL
My interests lie in the various factors influencing wildlife population dynamics and biogeography. Recent work has focused on using stable isotopes to study avian migration and dietary composition in a marine mammal. In my current position at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, I assist in the management and curation of the Zoology Department\'s vast collection of ornithology, mammalogy, entomology, arachnology, conchology and botany specimens. My extensive field experience covers a wide range of habitat types, from the harsh desert of the Grand Canyon to the snowy tundra of northern Alaska. I have banded dozens of bird species including small passerines and large shorebirds, and I have trapped and handled small mammals, amphibians, reptiles and fish. I have used radio-telemetry and light-sensitive geolocator devices for tracking animal movements. In addition to working with a variety of database software, I am fluent in R and I use ESRI\'s ArcGIS for mapping and analysis. I also have experience coding in ColdFusion, SQL and Python. My personal goal is to be a well rounded ecologist with a diverse background in the natural sciences. Professionally, I want to use my expertise to to improve the conservation and preservation of our natural resources through public education and scientific research.
