About Andrew Dhooge
I love both the art and the science behind aerodynamics. My professional experience is in working with designers and other engineering disciplines to develop products that balance aesthetics and function. My academic career was focused on motorsports aerodynamics, creating downforce to lower race car lap times. I believe in experimenting in all three aspects of vehicle aerodynamics: CFD, wind tunnel, and on-road. In addition to drag and lift/downforce analysis, I have worked on other aspects of aerodynamics including thermal and acoustic performance. While at Tesla, I explored the complex impact of wheel design on drag as well as vehicle performance in real world yaw and turbulence conditions. I also have a passion for entrepenuership. In pursuit of that, I co-founded a company foucused on parts for electric skateboards. This has helped to expanded my experience beyond the technical sphere into topics like manufacturing, sales, and marketing.
