ABOUT ANDREW CHASTAIN

Professional with 17 years’ experience in ammonia refrigeration as well as plant maintenance. Currently the maintenance manager overseeing maintenance, refrigeration, waste water, receiving as well as machine operators in the processing operations at Wayne Farms LLC. I have six supervisors that report directly to me as well as approximately 45 maintenance employees. I oversee all projects for the facility. I worked closely with vendors and contractors to get the best prices not only for equipment but for installations and renovations necessary to complete any and all new ventures. Recently I incorporated a PM program to track parts, equipment with parts cost and hourly labor cost as well to evaluate the cost of repairs for each piece of equipment in house. This provides the ability to track spending for equipment repair to determine the time when it has reached the maximum value and it becomes cost prohibitive to repair. I have reduced downtime to a minimum of no more than 5-10 minutes per week for an average of 3 minutes per week the last 12 months with 99% on time starts finished out 2016 Third in Agristats in Maintenance and in the top 10 for the plant.
