Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to each division’s work unit, including developing divisional strategies, performance objectives, and metrics that align with departmental and City strategic plans.• Plan, manage, and administer the operations of assigned major divisions within Human Resources; coordinate and oversee the implementation of divisional programs and activities; participate in policy development; and ensure alignment of divisional operations with overall business and strategic plans, mission, and vision.• Oversee and participate in the analysis, development, and administration of assigned budgets; monitor and approve expenditures; ensure budget compliance; and recommend adjustments as needed.• Lead the strategic planning, evaluation, communication, implementation, and administration of classification and compensation programs.• Provide overall accountability and responsibility for the strategic development and execution of the organization’s compensation framework.• Plan, direct, and review the activities and operations of the Classification and Compensation unit in accordance with salary administration guidelines and compensation best practices.• Oversee the development, implementation, and administration of the organization’s benefits programs.• Provide leadership, expertise, and guidance in creating innovative wellness programs that reinforce the City’s vision and overall benefits strategy.• Direct the development and implementation of employee programs to provide education and training related to health promotion, safety, and accident/injury prevention.• Lead the strategic development and oversight of the organization’s safety and workers’ compensation programs and initiatives.• Ensure organizational compliance with health and safety protocols and that all employees are adequately informed and prepared for emergency situations.
