I am regulated by the Costs Lawyer Standards Board. I have a BA (Hons) degree in Accounting & Law from Newcastle University, followed by a Diploma in Legal Practice at Northumbria University. My work in Legal Costs has involved-Undertaking costs work in a wide range of scenarios, including High Costs Case Plans and all stages of the costs budgeting process-Regular attendance at costs hearings on behalf of clients (including Appeals on Legal Aid Assessments, applications for relief from sanctions and high value commercial costs disputes)-Providing “in house” training to Law Firms with regard to the specific area of costs presentation, designed to improve efficiency and productivity; and -Working in unusual or sensitive procedures on behalf of clients, whilst providing interim advice and attending client premises where required.I have established long-term relationships with clients and am available for ad-hoc advice and explanation on procedures/issues. Away from the world of costs, I am Cumbrian born and interested in most sports. I annually take part in the Great North Run and am a lifelong supporter of Newcastle United.
