About Andrew Boswell

As an Environmental Scientist with the Lower Colorado River Authority, I am passionate about environmental protection and water quality. I specialize in collecting defensible water quality data and samples that are used to inform water policy across central Texas.I have a US Coast Guard captain\'s license and a SCUBA instructor certification, which I have used to manage and operate yachts and diving activities for SeaTrek BVI, a marine education and adventure program. I have also gained skills in geographic information systems (GIS) and land surveying through an internship at The San Diego River Park Foundation, where I collected and analyzed data on trash and pollution in the river watershed.In my role as a program director at SeaTrek BVI, I was responsible for the management of five ships and their staff and crew members, ensuring their safety, satisfaction, and performance. I successfully mediated inter-crew conflicts and communicated daily with the director of operations. I coordinated daily meetings with the other captains, disseminating information and planning operations. I also trained new hires on seamanship and equipment care and use. I empowered my team to deliver high-quality and memorable experiences to our students, while adhering to international standards and regulations. I am eager to bring my leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to a new challenges in the environmental consulting sector, where I can contribute to the sustainable development of environmentally and culturally sensitive areas.
