ABOUT ANDREW BERNARD

I consider myself to be a very well rounded individual with an aptitude for understanding how systems work together as a whole whether it be biological systems, mechanical or social. I have enjoyed taking on different types of challenges in school as well as different types of jobs. In general, I am a very ambitious person. I have become very concerned with the way that rapid urbanization has affected the quality of life for all inhabitants in and around our cities which is why I initially decided to specialize in landscape architecture. My studies focus on the integration of the landscape, architecture, and infrastructure to create multifunctional spaces that connect communities, embrace diverse cultures, and deepen human interconnections with nature. I am particularly interested in developing alternative models to traditional water infrastructure that integrate ecological processes to affect stormwater, while serving a multitude of other benefits, rejuvenating these \"interstitial\" spaces. Specialties: Green Infrastructure, Landscape Architecture, Project and Proposal Development, Environmental data collection. Visual and oral communication. Team leadership, Networking/Connecting.
