About Andrew A.
I’m a purpose-driven leader aiming to bring innovative technologies to market in ways that directly improve patient and clinician outcomes. My background spans military leadership, early-stage commercialization, and rare disease advocacy, anchored by a commitment to service, empathy, and execution. I started my career in the U.S. Army as a combat arms officer and project manager. I led cross-functional teams, managed personnel and equipment, and helped integrate autonomous systems into frontline operations. One of the most meaningful assignments I had was coordinating housing and logistics for over 800 Afghan refugees during Operation Allies Welcome. That experience reaffirmed my belief in leadership grounded in empathy and mission. During my time in service, I was diagnosed with a rare gastrointestinal disease. Navigating that diagnosis while leading gave me a new perspective on the patient experience and sparked a deep interest in healthcare innovation. It helped me define the kind of impact I want to make moving forward. After transitioning out of the military, I earned a Master’s in STEM Entrepreneurship from the University of Notre Dame. As part of that program, I worked with a team to validate a patient education platform designed to close the information gap many patients face at the time of diagnosis. I also supported commercialization research for Tycho AI, a defense-tech company from MIT, helping shape their early market entry strategy. I’m drawn to roles that sit at the intersection of product, strategy, and clinical impact, especially those that allow me to collaborate across teams and stay close to the end user. What sets me apart is my ability to translate complex ideas into clear, human-centered strategy informed by lived patient experience and military execution.
