ABOUT ANDRES LARREA
My aim is to find community-based solutions to socio-ecological issues. My fields of interest are territorial governance innovation, environmental policy analysis, disaster risk reduction, resilience planning and adaptive ecosystem management. My research focuses on the socio-ecological dynamics, politics and governance of social conflicts related to environmental degradation and crisis. I have worked on projects involving social movements, civil society, indigenous nations and municipal governments in Mexico, Peru, Chile and Canada. My experience in environmental intervention pertains to the integrated management of coastal territories threatened by climate change in the Magdalen Islands archipelago, Quebec, and Quintana Roo, Mexico.
