ABOUT ANDREJ TURK

Innovative Technical Lead and Materials Engineer with 9 years of experience in metallurgy, materials design and additive manufacturing. I help large industrials improve/develop materials and processes for their products in months instead of years. I also help them develop technology strategy.Some examples of my work: Drove steels technology development roadmap, aligned with the company’s ambitions in additive manufacturing and green energy green tech (fusion). Executed it by winning and managing several grants worth up to £1.5 M each (with another £4 M project in the pipeline). Planned, resourced and managed the resulting projects. Led cross-functional teams of up to 5 developing industrially relevant demo components from newly developed materials. Used computational methods to develop 10+ new industrially viable materials and manufacturing processes (steels, composites, precious metals, superalloys, zirconium, refractory metals, brazing alloys, wear-resistant coatings). 4 granted patents with 2 applications pending. Used python to analyse materials test data and large simulation datasets, visualise information for customer-ready presentations and build accurate (R2 > 0.95) machine learning models.I love working with people passionate about materials technology development and strategy, especially in renewable energy and aerospace.
