About Andre Chan

I\'m currently studying for the SAF-accredited Master of Forestry Degree at Duke University. My interests are in forest ecosystem restoration, carbon finance, and ecological silviculture. I\'m always looking out for how I can create positive impact on nature and human lives. I\'ve 4 years in the climate and sustainability space, with extensive experience running capacity building programs on climate policy in partnership with ministries in the Singapore Government including the National Climate Change Secretariat in the Prime Minister\'s Office, the Economic Development Board, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Defence. Before that, I worked at Temasek Foundation, the philanthropic arm of a global investment company managing grants for groundbreaking climate technologies and forest conservation models. I\'m a graduate of Yale-NUS College, a liberal arts college co-founded in Asia for the World by Yale University and the National University of Singapore where I read Environmental Studies and Anthropology. There, I wrote a history of how Singapore\'s bird population changed from 18••••21 due to land use change. In my free time, I recently gained a certificate of Pastoral Care from Methodist Welfare Services in Singapore for 80 hours of visits to residents of Yew Tee Nursing Home.
