About Andrea Zimlicki

Andrea holds a master\'s degree in Reading Science from Mount St. Joseph University and is Orton-Gillingham trained. Her passion for evidence-based literacy has led her to multiple professional development opportunities and has also helped her initiate a professional development series centered around evidence-based literacy instruction in her K-5 school. She believes reading is a social justice issue that requires a team effort across the nation to resolve. With a BA in Foreign Languages from Stonehill College, Andrea has advanced proficiency in both Spanish and French. She caught the travel bug during her junior year of high school when she participated in an exchange to a family’s home in Paris, France. She later spent an amazing semester studying Spanish Language and Culture at la Universidad de Zaragoza (while living with a family in Zaragoza, Spain). Andrea has been happily married to an Officer in the US Army for over fifteen years, and together they have lived overseas for six years and traveled to 26 countries. They have two amazing kiddos who are both growing up way too fast! Together they have hosted two au pairs, both of whom are now part of the family, and are currently hosting a German exchange student for the school year.
