SKILLS
ABOUT ANDREAS PRATZ
I am Partner and Managing director at Strategy & , specializing and leading our team in Retail Banking and Digital Payments. My experience stretches across the core European markets and beyond, with a specific focus on Switzerland, Germany and Austria. I also co-sponsor our Culture & Diversity initiatives, promoting diversity in strategy consulting and supporting programs to foster an equitable and inclusive workplace at Strategy & .Digital Payments is a core area of my work with north of 200 engagements supporting the payments industry - banks, card schemes, fintechs, processors and market infrastructures in bringing the Way We Pay into the digital age. Part of this work is help the payments industry navigate all the opportunities in between technological advances and regulatory constraints. A lot of my work is pan-European, and increasingly global. My personal specialization in retail banking, with a focus on sales and operations, rests on a solid foundation. From 1990 to 1992 I did enjoy a trainee program at Deutsche Bank and benefit from the extraordinary opportunity to apply this early knowledge in the post-reunification transformation in an Eastern German branch. I also had the opportunity to work with most of the larger Central and Eastern European banking groups a decade later in their post-millenial integration and growth strategies mostly in retail banking. Asset management is another area of interest, not only as a consultant where I served some of the larger Austrian and German asset and wealth managers in strategy and organisational transformation. I also held the role of Finance Director for the corporate pension scheme of a former employer. During my 8 year tenure, assets under management have doubled, investments diversified and measurable additional alpha added. I am a member of the International Bankers Forum and of the Frankfurt Payments Network and have acted as Finance director of a childcare non-profit association in Munich during its startup phase.
