My vision is a world in which everyone has the tools they need to heal.As a trained lifeguard and paramedic with the Bavarian Red Cross, I’ve seen first-hand the life-changing impact medical devices can have — not just on patients, but on the professionals who rely on them every day.Just think about the last time you felt desperately helpless in a situation. now add to this situation the fact that a human life depends on you. or even worse the live of a loved one.Every day medical devices make a difference. Not always between life and death, but also concerning the quality of life. For me this is the core of engineering: It’s about improving our lives. This is also why I believe engineering is most meaningful when its about helping others, especially those who heal.But too often great ideas stay just that: ideas – never tested, never implemented, never used, never improving our lives. This is why I strive to bridge the gap between real-world clinical needs and effective engineering solutions. I want to empower MedTech innovators to navigate the complex environment concerning medical devices, especially how to: design a medical device. set up the environment for medical device development. get a medical device to the market. keep your devices on the market.Again for me the only metric that matters is our lives.
