About Andreas W Liebscher
Physicist with 25+ years of multidisciplinary experience in applying fundamental engineering and physics principles to solve complex problems in the research and development (R&D) of novel instruments, advanced materials, energy systems, and electromagnetic effects (e.g, EME, EMI, RF). Wide-ranging experience working in aerospace, nanotechnology, electronics, biotechnology, metallurgical, microscopy, and space technology industries.• Internationally recognized (ICOLSE & Vertical Flight Society) for the invention of special lightning strike protection (LSP) experimental techniques used for FAA certification and the development of patented fastener technologies for protection of electrical systems and fuel tanks within aircraft and rotorcraft (helicopters).• Experienced in both the material properties and application criteria of refractory metals and related titanium alloys in the design of aircraft components. Also, well versed in powder metallurgy for optimizing additive manufacturing (AM) systems to print 3D parts having specific performance characteristics when subjected to dynamic flight loads and extremely harsh environmental conditions.• Extensive analytical skills (e.g, signal analysis, statistics) and simulation experience (e.g, MATLAB, COMSOL Multiphysics, DEFORM, SolidWorks) used to accelerate new product development by leveraging modeling to minimize experimental testing; which is combined with cross-functional problem solving and cross-disciplinary research to avoid schedule delays and reduce development costs.• Expertise in developing high-temperature plasma diagnostics to characterize linear confinement systems and magnetically confined toroidal fusion power production designs having complicated field geometries. Extensive experience designing isolated (floating) high-speed data acquisition systems using LabVIEW to acquire time-series probe signals, high-speed image sequences, and spectroscopic information. Thesis advisor was Prof. Steven Cowley (Director and I worked closely for many years with Stewart Zweben and the team in San Diego on numerous fusion/plasma topics where my father used to work.• Professional leadership experience with solid track record of having the ability to solve challenging technical problems in realistic time-frames using clear project planning and efficient execution of tasks through close collaboration between engineering teams. Experienced in managing larger teams through exceptional people skills, which inspires creativity and enthusiasm.

Overview:nanoCloak Technologies applies fundamental engineering and multiphysics principles to solve complex problems associated with the development of novel instruments, advanced materials, and energy systems. Since 2010 nanoCloak Technologies has expanded its capabilities in experimental testing and simulation of electromagnetic effects (e.g, EME, EMI, LSP, RF) to solve wide ranging problems within the aerospace, nanotechnology, electronics, biotechnology, metallurgical, and plasma technology industries.History:nanoCloak Technologies was gradually established through successful completion of projects with agencies such as the Department of Energy (DOE), Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), and Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR). Over the years the company has been involved in several SBIR/STTR programs at Phase I and Phase II levels and is experienced in Phase scale-up processes leading to commercialization. In addition to federal research programs nanoCloak Technologies has worked on many aerospace research projects that have resulted in international recognition for exceptional innovation and awards for making new discoveries. The company has extensive experience in nanoscale technology and metamaterials for the development of visible light cloaking systems which is the original foundation of our name.Specialties:Physics, Engineering, Electromagnetics, Metamaterials, Nanotechnology, Nanoscale Spectrospcopy, Comsol Multiphysics Simulation, Lightning Strike Protection, R&D, Plasma DiagnosticsWebsite: 85••••••42Industries: Physics Research & Consulting, Multiphysics Simulation, NanotechnologyCompany Size: 2-10 Type: Privately HeldFounded: 2010Headquarters: San Diego, CA
