ABOUT ANDREAS HANDTE
Currently I\'m working as an Engineer Innovation & Development at Getinge (Maquet Cardiopulmonary GmbH) in Hechingen. I specialize in the development of oxygenators. My role involves the use of CAD software (SolidWorks) and conducting simulations with ANSYS Fluent for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and ANSYS Mechanical for Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis. Most of my simulations are conducted using the HLS Set Advanced I also build prototypes for testing, perform explorative tests and create documentation for regulatory authorizations.Before that I was working as a CAE engineer in the field of non-linear finite-element-analysis, mainly crashworthiness in the automotive industry. The biggest project I was working on was the Sidecrash Simulation (Euro NCAP, US NCAP, IIHS) for the Porsche Taycan (former Mission E). The tools I used were ANSA for preprocessing, LS-Dyna for solving and Animator4 for postprocessing. Before that I worked as an development and simulation engineer at STRATEC Biomedical AG I was involved in different Instrument developments e.g. MosaiQ for Quotient or the Liaison XS for Diasorin. Most of the work was mechanical design with Autodesk Inventor. Beside that I was also doing CFD-Simulation with STAR-CCM+.In my free time I’m improving my skills in Python, Scripting (Linux/Animator4), FEA and materials.
