About Andreas Beyer
Significant experience in strategic planning and program development in basic and translational research focused on cardiovascular disease. Post graduate degrees in Biochemical Engineering and Genetics as well as over 15+ years as principal investigator and lead of research group that has been continuously externally funded.My collaborative approach and strong communication skills will enable me to effectively interact with industry, government, and community stakeholders to promote research activities. I especially thrive working with trainees and junior faculty to develop novel ideas that lead to external funding.My research centers on the translational aspects of vascular pathophysiology, with a particular emphasis on microvascular endothelial dysfunction. A key challenge in the field is the limited understanding of mechanisms underlying disease-induced microvascular dysfunction, which my lab addresses using innovative approaches to study mitochondrial stress responses in the human microcirculation.
