ABOUT ANDREA MARIA GIORI

I am in charge of new product developments for IBSA, a multinational pharmaceutical company headquartered in Switzerland and with several subsidiaries all over the world, including Italy. I deal with drugs, medical devices, food supplements and cosmetics, leading complex development projects, from the early stages (feasibility study) to the first industrial production. Most projects are based on innovative dosage forms, all manufactured in the Italian sites of IBSA, such as- orodispersible films - soft gelatine capsules - prefilled syringes - patches - Bag-On-Valve I am a chemist, active in Research & Development since 30 years, resulting in several publications, more than 20 patents and tens of new product launched. Among them, active ingredients derived from plants, for use in the pharmaceutical and health food industries, being phytochemistry my initial field of research.Every day I aim to learn, understand and share something new with colleagues, other experts of health science and regulatory affairs, as well as business partners. Since IBSA in Italy is also acting as a Contract Development & Manufacturing Organization, for selected companies and specific projects.
