ABOUT ANDREA MARCHETTI
Hey there! I’m Andrea, a Machine Learning Engineer, Ph.D. candidate, and all-around tech & motorsport enthusiast currently diving deep into the world of Additive Manufacturing & AI.At McMaster University, I’m exploring how machine learning can make metal 3D printing (specifically LPBF) smarter, cleaner, and more efficient. Think defect detection with spectral cameras, hybrid AI-physics models, and maybe even a bit of reinforcement learning magic to one day enable real-time process control. From Bologna to Turin, and now Hamilton, my journey’s taken me across disciplines, borders, and industries. I love working on real problems with real impact, with additional passion about motorsport, sustainability, and any challenge that needs a smart algorithm and a curious mind.Other than all this academic fun, I spent 3 years as a Quality Engineer in a fast-paced industrial environment, chasing defects, analyzing processes, implementing Lean Six Sigma, and learning how companies actually work from the inside out.
