I have more than 20 years of experience assisting public and private companies with identifying opportunities to reduce their overall state tax liabilities. I have led several teams to implement state restructuring plans tailored to the needs of my clients. I assisted several clients in implementing FIN 48 (now ASC 740-10) related to state income tax issues. I managed a multi-state compliance engagement for a public company to report adjustments resulting from a federal audit, and as part of that process identified unrelated refund opportunities for the client. I have extensive project management experience utilizing workplans and project management tools to ensure timely and organized delivery of projects. I also have multi-state experience completing sales/use and income/ franchise tax nexus reviews, refund studies, and voluntary disclosure programs for clients. Although my focus is income/ franchise tax, I also have experience in sales/use, property, and payroll taxes. I have been a presenter on state tax technical issues for BDO, TEI and Ernst & Young and authored articles on state tax issues in various state tax publications.
