ABOUT ANDREA AMAVISCA
With over six years of experience in legislative and government affairs in and out of the California State Capitol, I specialize in advocating for policies that support immigrant, low-income, and marginalized communities. I leverage my experience in policy analysis, coalition-building, and political strategy to advance legislation aimed at creating systemic reform. Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to bridging the gap between legislators and the communities they serve. As an advocate for social change, I am deeply committed to working in community with others and ensuring all impacted voices are represented at the negotiating table. Through collaboration with legislators, community leaders, and advocacy groups, I’ve been involved in the development, negotiation, and passage of key legislation, including the establishment of the California Guaranteed Income Program. My lived experience as a daughter of immigrants from a rural border community shapes and informs the advocacy work I do.Learn more about me here: https://capitolweekly.net/rising-stars-andrea-amavisca-of-the-california-immigrant-policy-center/
