As a legal intern for the NOMAS Foundation, I support attorneys and accredited representatives in providing pro bono immigration services to clients seeking green cards, citizenship, and asylum. In this role, I- Manage active case files by reviewing client questionnaires, evidence, and declarations, ensuring accuracy and completeness for USCIS submissions- Draft and revise immigration forms, client statements, and legal documents, and coordinate official translations for non-English materials- Prepare detailed instructions and weekly checklists for in-person volunteers, facilitating consistent case progression at NOMAS immigration clinics across Utah- Attend weekly strategy meetings with attorneys to discuss case updates, determine next steps, and ensure procedural compliance- Contribute to NOMAS’s mission of making immigration legal services more accessible by streamlining workflows and maintaining strict attention to deadlines and naming protocols.This experience enables me to engage deeply with immigration law, refine my legal research and case management skills, and support a mission-driven nonprofit that works at the intersection of law and humanitarian advocacy.
