Review and approve all original programming and acquired content for the network. Analyze material by reading scripts and screening cuts to determine show content changes needed for compliance with network, brand, and government policies. Negotiate with producers and post-production teams to ensure completion of necessary content changes before air. Liaise with a myriad of network departments such as business affairs, ad sales, legal affairs, current programming, integrated marketing, program services, network operations, digital services, global affairs, on-air promotions, and corporate social responsibility on various issues in order to protect the network and to ensure shows meet all broadcast requirements. Write and distribute policy compliance memos daily for multiple shows for scripted, unscripted, specials, documentaries, docu-dramas, original movies, acquired movies, podcasts, and promos. Determine necessity of and wording for viewer advisory cards and resource cards. Assign ratings to original and acquired programming for OWN and sister network shows within the WBD family including HBO, Discovery Channel, HGTV, Food Network, TNT, TBS and MAX streaming programs.
