About Andrea Velasquez

Andrea is a learning and development manager at ICF, designing, developing and implementing learning solutions that delight learners and make complex concepts more accessible to populations that are often underserved. She specializes in establishing learning & development strategies for startups and leading projects for large scale global enterprise companies. She holds a PhD from Brigham Young Learning is my passion. I have seen it change the lives of people all over the world, from my secondary education at-risk students, to my friends in Mozambique, Africa. I believe that education has the potential to change people\'s souls, the very essence of their being. I believe it is important to understand how to use technological tools correctly to help people learn, but more importantly, to help people connect relationally. Through careful use of technology we can communicate caring and the human experience to learn, yes, but to also amplify the strength of our relationships and connections as we make learning more engaging and interactive.    Managing a team of instructional designers. Delivering live and asynchronous financial content/training to support Office of Justice Programs (OJP) grantees and client certification and training. Providing reports and data tracking to support learners and better meet their needs. Managing the LMS. Streamlining ID processes, templates, and procedures for improved project and business performance.• Leadership: Supervising diverse staff to focus on deliverables in support of OVC/OCFO with the objective to help the target audience learn financial management skills to expend govt funds effectively. Managing and training direct reports, developing goals with direct reports, completing evaluations. Writing business development proposals.• Developing 508 compliant content, courses, pdfs, live webinars, online and in-person training for learner access. • Defining and delivering a learning strategy that aligns with business goals. Developing L&D templates and procedures from scratch (e-learning course templates, project kickoff template, project tracker template, process templates, 508 checklists, team meeting documents, project management protocols etc.) to provide team guidance and structure. • Collaborating with customer service/marketing teams to create accurate, practical content for real-world application through cross functional collaboration. • Operating LMS, providing LMS support, rolled out the LMS for pilot launch study. Conducting learning needs analysis, creating data reports to identify performance gaps and communicate measurable results to leadership. • Contributing to the communication strategy through monthly reports and quarterly newsletters to promote learning.• Managing external consultants, vendors, and invoicing that deliver L&D services (images, software, consultations) to team.• Screening, interviewing and onboarding new hires.• Developing SOPs, policies, and procedures for L&D; setup, manage, and maintain project management systems for L&D.
